Driving Directions from Asheville, NC
|
- Start on Interstate 40 heading west toward Canton.
- Take Exit 27 (Great Smoky Mountain expressway exit) to Hwy. 74/19/23
- Hwy. 74 will quickly merge with Hwy. 19/23. Follow signs to Waynesville.
- Stay on Hwy. 74 past Bryson City and over the Tennessee River bridge.

- Watch for NC-28 to Robbinsville. Turn right onto
NC-28.
- Follow NC-28 past Stecoah. Go uphill to the
junction with NC-143 on the left. Take NC-143 to
Robbinsville.
- About 1 mile down US-129, you will see a
sign for NC-143, Joyce Kilmer, and the
first (1) of five Master's Mission road
signs. Follow the signs left onto NC-143.
- Continue to follow NC-
143 at the second (2)
TMM sign.
- After about 2.1 miles, turn left onto Snowbird Rd. at the third (3) TMM sign
(circled in red in the photo on left).
- Turn left on Little Snowbird Rd. and go 3.39 miles. (The
road will become gravel at some point.)
- Look for Mission Rd. on the left along with the fifth (5)
TMM sign and a wooden bridge over Little Snowbird
Creek. Cross over the bridge and enter TMM property.
Only 2.8 miles to go!
- Continue on Mission Rd. over a small stream until you see a lake
on your left. Follow the road on around the lake.
- As you round the lake, you will see a white swimming dock. There
will be a fork in the road. Turn right and go up the hill until it levels
out.
- Turn left onto the driveway to the Teasdale's house. (See picture
on the left.) You've arrived!
- Go for 2.15 miles and continue on Snowbird Rd. as it
takes a hard left at the fourth (4) TMM sign.
- Continue another 1.03 miles down Snowbird Rd.
- When you arrive in Robbinsville, there will be an
Ingles on your left and a traffic light as NC-143
"T's" into US-129.
- At the light, turn right, following the sign for Joyce
Kilmer Memorial Forest.
